Nigerian singer Solidstar’s recent Instagram post expressing gratitude to his fiancée has generated a flurry of reactions online. In his post, Solidstar wrote, “LOYAL! For over ten years, all she got from me was pains, tears, and heartbreak. But she never gave up on me.”

While the message was intended to honor her loyalty, it has sparked diverse and critical responses from social media users. Many have questioned the nature of the relationship, interpreting the post as a reflection of a troubling dynamic.

One Instagram user commented, “Wow. Pain and sorrow, new criteria for being the perfect woman. It hurts to read this, stay strong, sis,” while another added, “Na this kind thing men dey like 😹😹😹wait and see how they will tag her as a superwoman 😹😹God no go let me collect praises for long-suffering.”

Some commenters suggested that Solidstar’s message implied a problematic relationship dynamic, with one woman writing, “Y’all like the ones you can mess with; if she can be messed with, then she’s the right one in a man’s world.”

Others expressed frustration with the notion of enduring hardship as a sign of true commitment. “Chineke m oooo👎👎, marrying her is the trophy for those pains😂😂😂 please, this forever she is doing with you, no more pain is allowed!! Make up for those years abeg,” one commenter stated.
