Senator Uba Sani Addresses ‘Anointed’ Candidates for 2027 Polls

    Published on

The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has described claims that he endorsed candidates for the 2027 general elections as false, misleading, and a fabrication by their authors.

It was reported that a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, clarified that Sani has neither endorsed nor given preferential support to any individual seeking elective office.

Maiyaki maintained that Governor Sani remains committed to democratic principles and believes in a transparent, fair, and inclusive process that allows party members and stakeholders to determine candidates through the party’s constitutionally established mechanisms.

The commission further stated that Sani is currently focused on governance and the implementation of policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Kaduna State, rather than engaging in premature political endorsements.

While urging members of the public to disregard the report in its entirety, the commissioner also warned individuals and groups against deliberately spreading fake news and politically motivated misinformation, noting that such actions could create unnecessary tension in the political environment and mislead the public.

The statement added, “The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a misleading message circulating on social media alleging that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for elective positions. This claim is entirely false and should be disregarded.”
