The Governorship Candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Mrs. Patience Ndidi Key, has called on voters to prioritize competence and visionary leadership over sentiments in the upcoming elections. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Key, the only female candidate in the race, emphasized the need for voters to look beyond gender, party affiliations, and the short-term allure of vote-buying.

Key highlighted the pressing issues facing Edo State, including unemployment, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure. She urged the electorate to choose leaders who are genuinely committed to addressing these challenges and transforming the state for the better.

Describing herself as the “David” in the race, Key expressed confidence in her ability to bring hope, progress, and prosperity to Edo State through human capital development and innovative leadership. She emphasized the importance of developing the state’s manufacturing industries, creating jobs, and generating revenue to tackle insecurity and hunger.

Key also commended security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace and urged them to remain professional and neutral during the elections. She called on the people of Edo to avoid the mistakes of the past by voting for leaders who will lead the state forward.
