Provide equipment, improve welfare of police officers – IGP Disu begs Nigerian govt

    Published on

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Tunji Disu, has urged the Nigerian government to provide the force with equipment that would help in ensuring that citizens are secured.

Disu also urged the Nigerian government to improve the welfare of police officers.

He made the appeal while fielding questions from journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Disu: “What I want everyone to expect from me as the IGP and the police force is that we will ensure our work is done properly.

“I also implore the government to take care and provide equipment for men of the police force, as this serves as an encouragement to us.”

President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Disu as IGP following the resignation of his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun.

Upon his appointment and confirmation by the Nigerian Police Council, Disu was sworn in today.
