‎Yakubu Damulak, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, has urged residents of the state to prioritise good leadership over zoning arrangements.

‎Damulak, who gave the advice e in an interview in Pankshin on Sunday, said people often sacrificed good leaders at the altar of zoning arrangements.
‎“Leadership is not an experiment. A good leader is difficult to find in a democratic dispensation where personal interests override that of the whole society.
‎“When you get a leader who understands the needs of the people and provides for them, he should be supported, protected, and given time to deliver dividends of democracy.
‎“You can only change leaders who you think are underperforming, but once they are competent and bring development to your doorsteps, what else do you want?” he said.
‎Damulak said people of the Pankshin, Kanam, Kanke (PKK) federal constituency were lucky to have a good representative at the National Assembly.

‎According to him, because of Yusuf Gagdi’s good performance, his people defied the zoning arrangement to give him another opportunity to serve.
‎He said though some people were aggrieved with the conduct of the party’s primary, the party and majority of its members only made decisions that would benefit everyone.
‎“I understand the cry of those who lost at the primaries. They also have good plans, but it was just one ticket, and the people had made their choice.
‎“APC is a formidable united family, where every member is important. The party is working tirelessly to reconcile every aggrieved member because that is what a good family does.
‎“The party will not take complaints of members for granted, doing so will jeopardise its chances at the polls come 2027,” he added.
‎Damulak said he believed that despite the internal challenges confronting the party, the APC would have a clean sweep at the 2027 general elections, from the president down to the state house of assembly.
‎According to him, the president has done enough to earn another term, adding that he will continue with his good policies and projects for the betterment of every citizen irrespective of party affiliation.
‎Damulak pleaded with all aggrieved members of the party to open up for reconciliation, adding that every good intended aspirant would have his chance at the right time.
