    Police arrest 3 persons allegedly using Kogi First Lady’s name fraudulently–update

    The Kogi State Police Command have arrested and detained three suspects for impersonating Hajia Sefinat Usman-Ododo, wife of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

    The Command Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP. Williams Aya, who confirmed the story to newsmen on Wednesday added that the suspects, names withheld, were kept in the custody of the Police Quick Response Unit, Lokoja.

    According to SP. Aya, the suspects printed and sold fraudulent forms for a non-existent empowerment programme, falsely claiming it was affiliated with the First Lady.

    “The forms were labeled “Kogi State Cooperative Federation of Nigeria”.
    The suspects were apprehended in Lokoja on Tuesday after an undercover agent purchased one of the fraudulent forms.

    “The case is currently under investigation, and the suspects will be prosecuted once the investigation is complete, according to the police image maker said.
