Crusoe Osagie, Chairman of the Publicity Committee for the Oredo PDP Campaign Council, has confidently asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, are uniquely positioned to win the upcoming Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024. Addressing a press conference in Benin City, Osagie emphasized that the competition is largely between the PDP, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Labour Party (LP), but he believes the candidates from the APC and LP fall short in terms of the required leadership capacity.

Osagie lauded Dr. Ighodalo for his extensive qualifications and achievements, highlighting his success as a prominent lawyer and the establishment of Banwo and Ighodalo, one of Africa’s largest law firms. He noted Ighodalo’s longstanding contributions to Edo State and his effective leadership in various capacities.

In contrast, Osagie criticized LP candidate Olumide Akpata for his lack of political experience and perceived insensitivity by running from Edo South, when many believe it is time for representation from Edo Central. He also disparaged APC candidate Sen. Monday Okpebholo, questioning his intelligence and suitability for the governorship role.

Osagie concluded his remarks by urging Edo residents, particularly those in Oredo Local Government Area, to rally behind the PDP and secure a decisive victory for Dr. Ighodalo.
