The wife of a pastor serving with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been kidnapped in Kwara State, Nigeria. According to reports, a group of unknown gunmen, around seven in number, stormed the community of Elerinjare in the Ifelodun local government area of the state. They abducted the woman identified as Blessing Ajiboye. Two other individuals who were assisting the pastor’s wife at her shop were also kidnapped during the attack, although reports indicate that they were later released.
The incident occurred around 8:45 pm at the trading shop operated by the pastor and his wife. The pastor explained that he stepped out of the shop briefly when he heard gunshots. He later found out that the gunmen had taken his wife after removing a baby tied to her back.
The attackers did not steal any money; instead, they specifically targeted the pastor’s wife. One person sitting near the shop was hit by a bullet during the attack and is receiving medical treatment.
Local authorities, including the traditional ruler of the community and the local vigilante, are collaborating with the state police to locate the suspected kidnappers.
As of now, the motive behind the kidnapping remains unclear, and the police are yet to provide detailed information about the incident.
