Nigerian Music Industry Driven by Egos – Omah Lay

    Published on

Afrobeats singer, Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has opened up about his views on relationship dynamics in the Nigerian music industry, revealing that the industry is full of egos.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Nando Leaks podcast, Omah Lay explained that he has a “weird” personality and doesn’t seek external validations, which makes him comfortable with having a small circle.

He said the only friends he has are those who understand him.

He noted that he is reserved but has a large ego.

“I have a very weird personality, I believe I am just that guy, so I don’t have a lot of friends. I don’t talk to a lot of people, just very few people and those people are people who try to come into my world and understand where I am going.

“The Nigerian music scene is full of egos. I am a chill guy but I have too much ego. It is hard to make friends like that,” Omah Lay said.

The singer added that he tries to be humble sometimes because he believes large ego can hinder progress.
