Informed by a distinctive artistic perspective, PaBrymo released his EP ‘City Boy’ in August 2023, featuring collaborations with ODUMODUBLVCK, Seyi Vibez, and Kida Kudz. His latest musical creation, ‘In Battle,’ blends Amapiano and Hip Hop elements, with the notable inclusion of Street Hop sensation Zlatan.

To complement this offering, PaBrymo has enlisted the expertise of renowned video director TG Omori for the visual representation of the hit single. The music video has garnered attention on various streaming platforms in Nigeria.

However, amidst this success, PaBrymo faces criticism for allegedly neglecting to obtain clearance from Gospel singer Gloria Oluchi, whose single ‘We Are In Battle’ was sampled for the chorus of PaBrymo’s track. This development comes in the wake of similar copyright infringement claims in the Nigerian music industry, such as the accusation against breakout artist Shallipopi for unauthorized sampling in the hit record ‘Oba Pluto.’

The backlash against PaBrymo extends to questions about his ability to afford TG Omori’s services while allegedly neglecting the necessary permissions for the sampled content. Observers highlight that such incidents underscore the lack of robust structures and institutions in the Nigerian music industry, emphasizing the need for a more stringent adherence to due process in Afrobeats and beyond.
