    “NYSC DG Urges Corps Members to Promote Unity in Host Communities: Highlights from Closing Ceremony”

    Brigadier General Y.D Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), recently addressed corps members during the closing ceremony of the orientation exercise for the 2024 Batch A Stream 2. Here are the key points from his speech:

    1. *Call for Unity*: General Ahmed urged corps members to serve as ambassadors of unity, promoting cohesion wherever they are posted.

    2. *Positive Representation*: Emphasizing the importance of upholding a positive reputation, he advised against involvement in criminal activities and stressed the values of patriotism, diligence, and perseverance.

    3. *Safety Precautions*: General Ahmed cautioned against night journeys, advising corps members to halt their travels by 6:00 PM and find designated safe places to spend the night.

    4. *Continued Training*: He encouraged corps members to continue with the post-camp training of the Skill Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme and be present at their places of primary assignments.

    5. *Respect for Culture*: The DG emphasized the importance of respecting the culture and traditions of host communities.

    The event concluded with the distribution of posting letters to successful corps members, marking the commencement of their service in various parts of the country.
