The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has rejected reports claiming that its South-West leader, Adebisi Olopoeyan, and other executive members from Oyo State were suspended. In a statement released on Wednesday, the party’s National Secretary, Sunday Oginni, denounced the suspension reports as “unholy” and urged the public to disregard them.

Oginni defended Olopoeyan, highlighting his significant contributions to the party and dismissing the claims as fabrications by a faction associated with the expelled leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He asserted that the actions and announcements from Kwankwaso and his faction are invalid following their expulsion from the party.

The NNPP called for calm among its members and reaffirmed its support for Olopoeyan, issuing a vote of confidence in his leadership. This statement comes amidst broader party restructuring efforts, which recently included the dissolution of executive committees in five state chapters, including Oyo. Affected members have been directed to appear before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for review.
