Nollywood star Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, known as Taymesan, has opened up about a profound experience of feeling rejected during his teenage years. Taymesan’s parents were young lovers who separated shortly after his birth, leaving him to be raised by his grandmother. Although his father eventually reentered his life, Taymesan recounted how he was once again subjected to the pain of rejection as his father seemingly favored his new wife and family over him.

During the latest episode of his podcast, “Tea With Tay,” Taymesan shared, “My dad and mom were teenage lovers, becoming parents at a young age, and my grandmother stepped in to raise me.”

He continued, “My father made an effort at some point, but it was short-lived. The only time he seemed to choose me, someone else intervened – his new wife. I felt a deep sense of rejection, as if my own father had chosen his wife and her new family over me.”

Taymesan’s initial motivation for success was to prove wrong those who had rejected him, but as he achieved stardom, he realized that the wounds of his past ran deep. He has since turned to faith, seeking healing and closure from the emotional scars he carries.
