‎The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, will chair the Nigeria Private Security Conference (NPSC) 2026, organisers have said.

‎The conference, themed ‘Building a modern security ecosystem: Integrating private sector capacity into Nigeria’s national security architecture,’ is scheduled for June 13 in Abuja.

‎According to the organisers, the event is designed to bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, private sector operators, investors and international delegates.

‎In a letter dated May 20 and signed by Group Capt. MK Nanle on behalf of the minister, Musa described the conference as a structured national platform aimed at fostering collaboration among government, defence, intelligence, private sector and technology stakeholders.

‎He affirmed his acceptance to chair the conference and expressed the ministry’s readiness to work with the organisers to ensure its success.

‎The convener of the conference, Charles Awuzie, commended the minister for supporting the initiative, noting that his participation underscored a commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework.

‎Awuzie said the conference would bring together top decision-makers, including state governors and national security leaders, to drive policy discussions and partnerships.

‎He added that the event would also feature exhibitions aimed at connecting participants to commercial opportunities within the security sector.

‎According to him, the conference seeks to promote community-based security systems supported by technology and regulation, stimulate job creation in the private security industry and advance reforms to enhance safety nationwide.
