Reflecting on Jorginho’s journey since joining the club a year ago, it’s fair to say that my initial reservations have been completely dispelled. Witnessing his performance in 41 games over the past 365 days has left me thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, technical prowess, experience, influence, and ability to control the tempo of the game from the midfield. Despite a notable error in the recent 2-2 draw against Tottenham, Jorginho has proven to be a valuable asset under Mikel Arteta’s tactical guidance.

With the likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Thomas Partey, and Mohamed Elneny facing various challenges such as injuries and form, Jorginho has seamlessly filled the void, often featuring prominently in domestic cups and Champions League matches, as well as delivering standout performances in high-profile Premier League encounters.

Initially signing a one-and-a-half-year deal with Arsenal, Jorginho’s future at the club seemed uncertain, with the option of an additional year. However, recent reports suggest that Arsenal is keen on extending his contract, despite interest from other clubs, notably Juventus. Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, emphasized the importance of evaluating all proposals, with a priority on renewing with Arsenal due to his positive relationship with the team.

While Juventus and other Serie A clubs have yet to show significant interest, Santos mentioned potential options at Lazio and Juventus, citing familiarity with former coach Maurizio Sarri and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli. However, Jorginho’s preference seems to lie with staying at Arsenal, where he has found a comfortable and productive environment.

As negotiations unfold, it’s expected that Arsenal will secure Jorginho’s future at the club, reflecting both parties’ mutual desire to continue their successful partnership. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation progresses.
