Italian Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma Attacked and Robbed in Paris

    Published on

By Daniel EdIn a distressing incident, Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), was the victim of an attack and robbery at his home in Paris, France.

According to reports from the police in France, Donnarumma was targeted by a gang of armed robbers at his flat in the eighth area of Paris on July 21. The attackers carried out the robbery in the presence of his girlfriend, Alessia Elefante.

Following the attack, Donnarumma sustained minor injuries and had to flee from his house to seek safety at a nearby hotel, accompanied by his girlfriend. The hotel staff promptly provided assistance and took them to a hospital for medical attention, although his girlfriend was fortunately unharmed physically.

While unconfirmed, reports on the news website Actu17 suggest that the attackers stole valuable items, including expensive watches, jewels, and leather goods, estimated to be worth up to €500,000 from Donnarumma’s residence.

The agency representing the footballer released a statement confirming that both Donnarumma and his girlfriend are in shock and doing as well as possible under the terrible circumstances. They are cooperating with the ongoing police investigations.

Regrettably, Donnarumma is not the first PSG player to be targeted by a gang of robbers. Past and present PSG players such as Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves, and Eric Choupo-Moting have also experienced similar attacks while playing for the French Ligue 1 champions.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of high-profile athletes and underscores the need for further security measures to protect them and their families. Authorities are working diligently to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
