In a horrific incident in Minna, Niger State, suspected hoodlums viciously murdered 33-year-old freelance photographer, Zacchaeus Salawadeen, in his home, in the presence of his three children.
According to reports, the assailants tracked Salawadeen to his residence in the Tundun Fulani Area, where they fatally stabbed him after forcibly entering his house. The tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday night shortly after Salawadeen had returned home from work to spend time with his family.
Despite being rushed to the IBB Specialist Hospital, Salawadeen was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the killers broke into Salawadeen’s flat, where they mercilessly attacked him, leaving behind a trail of terror. They also allegedly confined other occupants of the house to a single location before carrying out the heinous act.
In addition to the brutal murder, the perpetrators reportedly made off with valuable possessions belonging to the deceased, including a laptop and camera.
The Niger State Police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that the police had launched an investigation into the matter. He disclosed that exhibits had been recovered from the scene, and preliminary inquiries were underway.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the increasing insecurity and the need for concerted efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
