Fireboy DML, the Nigerian singer known as Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, has characterized fame as a “manipulative force” that, like money and sex, can lead individuals into making “costly mistakes.”

In an interview with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo, Fireboy shared his perspective on the challenges of fame. He likened fame to money and sex, describing how these three elements can have a profound impact on one’s mental state.

He explained, “Fame is a complex force. It’s similar to money and sex. These three things can significantly affect your mindset. They can influence you to make decisions that you wouldn’t have made otherwise. They can make you feel invincible, which can lead to making serious and expensive mistakes.”

Fireboy also highlighted the public nature of these mistakes, saying, “When you’re famous and you make mistakes, everyone sees them. It’s not like when you’re an ordinary person and can quickly correct your errors. Some mistakes can be extremely costly, and I want to avoid making those kinds of mistakes.”
