Major General Chris Jemitola (Rtd), former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has passed away.

Jemitola reportedly collapsed on Thursday morning at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The cause of his sudden collapse remains unknown.

He served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 while holding the rank of colonel and later rose through the ranks to become the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army before his retirement. Jemitola also held key positions such as Director of Defence Information and Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.

In the private sector, he served as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.

His unexpected death has left the military and defense communities in mourning, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and associates. His family has yet to release details on funeral arrangements.
