Edo guber: APC reaffirms faith in judiciary, confident of Supreme Court victory

    Published on

As the Supreme Court of Nigeria prepares to deliver its final judgment on Thursday, regarding the litigation on the outcome of the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) legal team has expressed confidence in the transparency of the judiciary and is sure of victory.

The source confirmed to New National Star that the party expects to win the case, citing the “flip-flops” during the trial that characterized the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Mr. Asue Ighodalo.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria pointed to the inability of PDP and Ighodalo’s lawyers to call witnesses to substantiate their allegations of irregularities at the governorship polls during the tribunal proceedings.

It will be recalled that both the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal have already ruled in favour of the APC and Governor Monday Okpebholo, whom the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared as the winner of the election.
