Members of the Bayelsa State Government New Media Team have announced their resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring loyalty to Governor Douye Diri and his evolving political direction.

At a virtual meeting held Sunday evening, with over 95 percent attendance and presided over by the Director-General, New Media, Dr. Samuel Kolawole Oredipe—the aides unanimously resolved to quit the PDP “as a mark of honour and loyalty” to the governor.

The motion, moved by Mr. Bodiseowei Fred Oyomowei and seconded by Waribugo W. Gabriel, was unanimously adopted.

The team commended Governor Diri for his “practical leadership” and legacy projects, particularly the ongoing gas turbine project, which they described as a game-changer for Bayelsa’s economic future.

They also passed a vote of confidence in Dr. Oredipe for providing innovative leadership and enhancing government communication through the New Media structure.

The aides congratulated him on his recent award for Excellence in Digital Communication at the 12th Bayelsa Media Awards, saying it reflected his commitment to professionalism and innovation.
