Deji Adeyanju claims Nigerians don’t want 24-hour electricity

    Published on

Nigerian activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has claimed that most Nigerians are not ready for 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.

Speaking during an episode on The Honest Bunch podcast, Adeyanju asserted that most Nigerians want reliable power at critical times of the day.

He stressed that Nigerians’ demands from their government are not unrealistic.

Adeyanju explained that their expectations should not be considered difficult to satisfy, stating that Nigerians are the easiest people to please.

“Nigerians don’t even want 24 hours light, can they even afford 24 hours light? Nigerians just want to come home at 8pm and meet light so they won’t sweat when they sleep, and also meet the light by 7am so they can iron their clothes, and then you can take the light and divert it to where factories are. Nigerians are not asking for much, and they’re the easiest people to please. How can this be too much?” he stated.

Meanwhile, Adeyanju has stated that President Bola Tinubu is a difficult opponent to defeat, even in a free and fair contest.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Adeyanju described Tinubu as a formidable political operator.

He asserted that Tinubu has mastered the art of winning elections and controlling power.

Adeyanju, a known critic of Tinubu, praised his political acumen, saying that despite the fierce opposition to his administration, the President possesses a unique ability to maintain control over Nigeria’s political landscape.

He said, “Jagaban knows how to win, even in a free and fair election.”

Adeyanju stated. He further acknowledged the president’s remarkable ability to dominate the political field, pointing out that “32 governors are working for him,” and even politicians like Alex Otti are loyal to him.

“Jagaban is above everybody,” Adeyanju added, emphasising that Tinubu’s network of supporters and allies, especially within the APC, makes him an overwhelming force in Nigerian politics.

Adeyanju also pointed to Tinubu’s ability to build alliances, saying the president’s political machine is unparalleled. He admitted that the APC holds a commanding position, and that the only party that could possibly mount a serious challenge to the APC’s dominance is the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
