Davido claims, Nigeria lacks actual democracy

    Published on

Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has implied that Nigeria does not have actual democracy like the United States of America does.

In a recent appearance on The Morning Hustle podcast, he made this claim.

Davido clarified that despite supporting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, he congratulated Donald Trump on his election win because he supports American democracy.

“I gave Donald Trump my congratulations. The president is that! What are you discussing? I would have congratulated him even if I were running against him.

“The fact that America has actual democracy is what I enjoy about it. That isn’t the case in Nigeria, where I’m from.

Since I wanted to witness the first female president of my generation, I must admit that I voted for Kamala Harris. That would have been cool.”
