In a resounding display of skill and determination, Chelsea secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge, affirming Eden Hazard’s previous assertion that Spurs are not superior to his former club.

The Blues’ stellar performance mirrored their earlier 4-1 triumph at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, dispelling any doubts about the legitimacy of their dominance over their rivals this season.

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring with a precise header from Conor Gallagher’s free kick, followed by Nicolas Jackson’s goal, capitalizing on Cole Palmer’s free kick rebounding off the woodwork.

This victory underscores Chelsea’s historical advantage over Spurs at Stamford Bridge, where the North London side has struggled, losing 20 out of 32 Premier League encounters.

Hazard’s belief in Chelsea’s superiority was evident in his remarks on the Obi One Podcast in February, where he acknowledged the prowess of teams like Manchester City and Liverpool but dismissed Tottenham’s contention. Despite Spurs’ strong start to the season, Hazard remained steadfast in his conviction that they would not challenge for the league title.

Hazard’s legacy in the Chelsea-Tottenham rivalry dates back to 2016 when his iconic equalizer dashed Spurs’ Premier League title hopes, ultimately aiding Leicester City in their historic triumph.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, expressed his frustration during the match, reportedly admonishing his players for their lackluster performance.

Chelsea’s emphatic victory not only underscores their superiority over Spurs but also validates Hazard’s assessment, cementing his status as a Chelsea legend who understands the intricacies of the Premier League rivalry.
