Arsenal Eyes January Transfers After Gabriel Jesus’ Suspected ACL Injury

    Published on

Arsenal’s recent concerns over Gabriel Jesus’ suspected ACL injury are prompting the club to actively pursue January transfers. Mikel Arteta revealed on Tuesday that the injury to the Brazilian forward has the team “very worried,” as he was stretchered off during Sunday’s FA Cup match against Manchester United. The Gunners’ recent struggles have been exacerbated by the absence of Bukayo Saka, further intensifying concerns about their lack of goalscoring options.

While Arteta stopped short of confirming the severity of Jesus’ injury, he expressed concern, saying, “We were very worried straight away after the game, and we are very worried today.” With the injury adding to Arsenal’s struggles, Arteta confirmed the club is actively looking to strengthen the squad during the January transfer window.

Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League but have failed to win any of their past three matches across all competitions. Arteta’s focus now shifts to the north London derby against Tottenham, where his squad will face a key test in their pursuit of top spot in the league.

With goalscoring concerns also lingering—Arsenal being the only top-six Premier League club without a player in double figures—Arteta emphasized the need for reinforcements. “We are actively looking in the market to improve the squad,” Arteta said, acknowledging that the situation calls for swift action.
