Anambra Government Panel Confirms Mmesoma’s Result Manipulation, Commends JAMB for Professionalism

    Published on

The panel of inquiry established by the Anambra State Government has officially confirmed that Mmesoma Ejikeme manipulated her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, where she falsely claimed a score of 362 instead of her actual score of 249.

In its eight-page report, the panel recommended that Mmesoma issue a written apology without reservation to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Anglican Girls’ Secondary School (her school), and the state government. Additionally, it suggested that she undergo psychological counseling and therapy.

Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo formed the eight-member panel to investigate the ongoing controversy between JAMB and Mmesoma, following allegations of result manipulation. The panel’s mandate was to make its findings public.

Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls’ Secondary School in Nnewi, had initially presented a UTME result claiming the “highest score” of 362, which JAMB later revealed to be manipulated.

The panel report, which is circulating online, was addressed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and made available by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, on Friday.

The panel conducted interviews with relevant parties, including Mmesoma, JAMB officials, individuals involved in the process, and the principal of Anglican Girls’ Secondary School.

According to the panel’s findings, Mmesoma had submitted a request to JAMB with a different registration number, presenting a UTME result indicating an aggregate score of 362, with specific subject scores. However, this result substantially deviated from the standard JAMB format, and upon investigation, her actual score of 249 was revealed.
