All Delta PDP Reps defect to APC

    Published on

All House of Representatives members from Delta State elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made during Tuesday’s plenary by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, marking a significant political shift in Delta State’s representation at the federal level.

This mass defection follows similar moves by former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and incumbent Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who both declared their switch to the APC during a stakeholders’ meeting in Asaba.

Meanwhile, PDP lawmaker Ikenga Ugochinyere revealed that two more governors and about 40 other PDP lawmakers are expected to join the APC soon. Despite the wave of defections, former Senate President Bukola Saraki maintains that the PDP will undergo a repositioning process and insists that those wishing to leave the party are free to do so.
