Governor Makinde was accused by Kayode Babayomi of misleading Oyo residents through social media posts. He referred to him as the nation’s most packaged social media governor.
In an interview with News Central on Monday, he made this claim. The state’s infrastructure, agricultural, and education conditions were criticized by the AAC chairman.
“The government of Governor Makinde has simply been awful. It’s as though we don’t want to address the true problems when we give him a rating. What are there to be proud of when visiting or observing Oyo State? We have nothing.
“Social media packages are all we’ve seen. However, we refer to him as the most packaged governor in all of Nigeria and the social media governor. Is it farming? Is it learning? I’m telling you, Oyo State should have an abundance of food given its landmass,” Babayomi stated.
He clarified that the state’s educational environment is subpar for both teachers and kids. Additionally, he charged that Governor Makinde had not taken his infrastructure initiatives seriously.
The people of Oyo State, according to Babayomi, are aware that the governor has not exercised sound governance.
“We haven’t noticed anything in the educational sector. We still have deteriorating buildings. There are no classrooms for teachers. Students continue to face west and north. Three courses’ worth of students continue to use a classroom—a run-down one, at that.
In addition, we haven’t seen any infrastructure or roadways. The only information we have found concerning the roads is a rating of the decent roads that were previously present. In just the five years after Makinde took office, certain Oyo State roads have undergone two touches.
“All we see is that he posts on social media and receives praise from others. Makinde is viewed by the good people of Oyo State as merely a governor who uses social media and has nothing to offer.
