During a press interaction at his residence in Ibadan after the Eid prayers, Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, praised Tinubu’s administration and expressed his support for the decisions made thus far.

Ladoja, who served as a senator alongside Tinubu in the Social Democratic Party during the aborted Third Republic, acknowledged that there might be initial difficulties, but emphasized that tough decisions need to be made for Nigeria to experience progress.

He expressed his endorsement of the federal government’s actions, highlighting the need to readjust and restructure the country, focusing on wealth redistribution rather than mere palliatives.

Ladoja noted that many of the issues being addressed by Tinubu were previously raised to former President Muhammadu Buhari without significant response, implying that Tinubu is taking proactive measures to tackle those concerns.

The former governor stressed the importance of eradicating corruption and believed that Tinubu understands how to create a self-policing society if corruption is eliminated.

Ladoja also mentioned that governance would become easier and the market more liberal, allowing for healthy competition if corruption is curbed.

He expressed his support for the investigation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, emphasizing the need for accountability.

Ladoja displayed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to foster a liberal and competitive market due to his background in the private sector.

Regarding his relationship with Governor Seyi Makinde, Ladoja stated that they have a cordial relationship and denied any clash of interests before, during, or after the 2023 general elections.
