‎The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said it will take its presidential campaign to all 36 states ahead of the 2027 general elections, engaging voters beyond major cities.

    ‎

‎Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will meet Nigerians through rallies, town hall meetings and visits to local communities.

    ‎

‎Speaking with journalists, Shaibu said the campaign would not be restricted to the North, dismissing suggestions that Atiku’s support base is concentrated in the region.

    ‎

‎He said the party will soon unveil its campaign timetable, adding that all states will be covered with direct engagement in local government areas and villages, not just state capitals.

    ‎

‎Shaibu said the approach was informed by economic difficulties facing Nigerians nationwide.

    ‎

‎”The man who is hungry in Zamfara is the same as the man who is hungry in Lagos,” he said.

    ‎

‎The ADC spokesman expressed confidence that Atiku could win support across the country, including in the South.

    ‎

‎Asked about southern states the former vice-president expected to win, Shaibu said: “I will not just be bold, I will be audacious about it. Atiku will win the entire country.”

    ‎

‎The ADC’s plan comes as President Bola Tinubu said he would attend rallies in only 12 states, citing the need to balance campaign activities with governance.

    ‎

‎Tinubu announced the decision on October 14 during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, saying the country required his attention, particularly on financial obligations and investment.

    ‎

‎A campaign timetable reported by Punch indicated that Tinubu’s rallies would begin in Kaduna on October 24 and end in Lagos on January 9, 2027.
