Labour Party has disowned the Rainbow Coalition promoted by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The party vowed to contest the 2027 general elections independently.
National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, stated the position while reacting to reports that six parties, including LP, endorsed coalition in Rivers State.
Asogwa said national leadership did not authorise any alliance with Rainbow Coalition or proposed G100 opposition coalition.
He insisted LP is not part of any coalition in Rivers or elsewhere.
Asogwa said the party remains focused on winning the presidential election and governorship seats where it fields candidates.
The publicity secretary warned any state chapter joining coalition without national approval will face scrutiny.
He said the party will investigate any confirmed involvement before deciding action.
Asogwa declined to disclose disciplinary measures, saying relevant organs will determine next steps after review.
The clarification comes amid realignments ahead of 2027 as Wike’s Rainbow Coalition seeks to rally parties behind its candidates.
