Former Sports Minister, Abdulrahman Hassan Gimba has asked Federal High Court in Minna to nullify the African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial primary in Niger South.
Gimba alleged irregularities and non-compliance with Electoral Act 2026, claiming election did not hold in some wards.
He filed suit No. FHC/MN/CS/55/2026 against ADC as 1st defendant, Alhaji Baba Shehu Agaie as 2nd defendant and INEC as 3rd defendant.
The ex-minister, who testified as principal witness, urged the court to order fresh primary.
He is represented by Mohammed Gimba leading three other lawyers.
Gimba tendered his ADC membership card, voter’s card, party guidelines, letters, receipts, nomination form and primary results as exhibits.
He also played an audio recording of interview with Agaie, claiming it showed he was prospective winner.
Counsel to 1st and 2nd defendants, Ogbunmaje and Abdulrahman Siraj, objected to admissibility of some documents.
Presiding judge, Justice Barau Abdullahi, overruled objections and admitted documents as exhibits.
During cross-examination, Siraj questioned variations in signatures on tendered documents and demanded samples of Gimba’s signatures.
The demand triggered argument, with plaintiff’s counsel Adamu Umar objecting.
Other witnesses also testified while the court adjourned for continuation as parties battle over disputed ADC Niger South primary.
