    Fire Breaks Out at Lagos International Airport Terminal 2, Disrupts Flight Operations

    A fire outbreak on Sunday morning at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos disrupted activities and raised concerns among passengers and airport staff.

    Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) has deployed fire fighters to contain early hour blaze, no casualties was recorded according to statement issued by authority.

    FAAN confirmed the incident in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, assuring the public that emergency responders were immediately deployed.

    According to FAAN, its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) swiftly moved to the scene and is actively working to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

    “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos,” the statement read.

    “The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation.”

    The authority also confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.

    “There have been no reported casualties or loss of life,” FAAN stated.

    While the exact cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed, FAAN assured that updates would be provided as more details emerge.

    The incident temporarily affected airport operations, with passengers and airline activities experiencing brief disruptions as emergency teams worked to bring the situation under control.
