    ‎Suspected militia attack, destroy over 8 hectares of farmland in Bassa LGA

    ‎At least no fewer than eight hectares of cultivated farmland have been  reportedly destroyed in Rewienku Village, of Irigwe Chiefdom of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

    ‎Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred following an attack by suspected militia members on people’s lives, and properties were torched.

    ‎The incident, according to local sources, resulted in the destruction of crops across vast portions of farmland, raising concerns over the livelihoods of affected farmers and the growing insecurity in the area.

    ‎”‘You recalled that Bassa, Riyom, Mangu, Bokkos, Jos South and Wase LGAs have come under a series of killings and pockets of kidnapping in Plateau State, leading to the death of 20 people in Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North LGA.

    ‎The Plateau State Police Command spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the attack to our correspondent, and disclosed that security has been deployed to the scene .

    ‎He urged citizens to remain law-abiding, as security are investigating the incident.
