Miyetti Allah Leader Backs Tinubu’s Re-election, Joins Senatorial Race

    Published on

The National President of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Socio-cultural Association, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has distanced himself from the consensus arrangement proposed by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State.

Bodejo made his position known during a visit to the APC secretariat in Jalingo, where he also declared his intention to contest for the Taraba Central Senatorial seat on the platform of the party.

The Miyetti Allah leader said he would not withdraw from the race in favour of any aspirant under any consensus arrangement.

His position comes amid efforts by the APC leadership in the state to adopt consensus candidates ahead of future party primaries.

Bodejo also disclosed that members of the association had begun mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu across Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, the mobilisation drive is based on what he described as Tinubu’s achievements in the region.

Speaking during the visit, the APC State Chairman, Abubakar Bawa, assured party members that future primaries would be free, fair and credible.

He, however, stated that the process would be conducted through a consensus arrangement.

Meanwhile, political observers believe disagreement over the consensus plan could trigger internal crisis within the APC chapter in Taraba State.

There are reports that the State Working Committee may be acting on alleged directives linked to Governor Agbu Kefas, suggesting that party candidates should emerge through consensus rather than competitive primaries.
