The 2025 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State, John Chuma Nwosu (JCN), has showered praises on Nigerian workers, describing them as the “true drivers of society” in a stirring Workers’ Day message.
In a statement released on Friday ,Nwosu saluted the “diligent men and women” whose daily grind keeps the economy alive and communities thriving, despite mounting challenges.
“Your resilience, innovation, and dedication remain the foundation of Anambra’s growth and Nigeria’s progress,” he declared.
The frontline politician did not stop at praise. He used the occasion to call for urgent improvements in workers’ welfare, insisting that Nigerian workers deserve better pay, modern tools, and stronger support systems.
“Labour is more than a means of livelihood—it is a force that shapes development and inspires transformation,” Nwosu stated.
He stressed that with the right mix of policies, technology-driven governance, and strategic investments, the state could unlock massive opportunities, boost businesses, and build a more inclusive economy.
The ADC flagbearer also painted a hopeful picture of the future, hinging it on a well-equipped and empowered workforce.
“The future lies in a workforce that is empowered, skilled, and well-supported—and that is the future we must build together,” he added.
Nwosu urged workers not to lose hope, encouraging them to remain steadfast and committed.
“Keep pushing forward. Keep creating value. Keep believing,” he charged.
His message comes amid growing concerns over workers’ welfare across the country, with many calling for reforms to improve salaries, working conditions, and job security.
As Nigeria marks Workers’ Day, Nwosu’s remarks have added to the chorus of voices demanding a better deal for the nation’s workforce.
