Hon. Micheal Diden, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Con
gress (APC) in Delta has accepted to contest for the Delta South Senatorial Seat in 2027.
Mr Diden, fondly called “Ejele” said on Monday in Warri that the acceptance was in response to several pleas by the “APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement” urging him to contest.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement was officially unveiled on Monday at a well attended rally in Warri.
The group also endorsed the re-election of President Bola Tinubu; Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi.

Mr Justice Akuyoma as member to represent Warri North in the Delta House of Assembly.
In his acceptance speech, Diden thanked the group for the endorsement, saying that it was an indication of the confidence they had in him.
“There is an adage in almost all tribes that the best ways to show appreciation is to say thank you. Therefore, I have no other option than to say thank you for the endorsement.
“I have accepted your pressure on me to contest for the Senatorial District Seat in 2027,” he said.
Diden recalled that the same group was part of several others that were behind his previous contest for the same seat which he won but was manipulated for certain reasons.
Diden who contested for the Delta South Senatorial District election in the 2023 general election, said that he won seven out of the eight local government areas of the district.
He said that those responsible for his lost in the last election were not alive again, expressing hope that the 2027 election would be better than the previous one.
“By the grace of God, if I get there, I will improve and I will be there for you,” he pledged.
On his part, Mr Suru Diden, the Director- General of APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement, said the decision to pressure Mr Diden underscored the growing demand across Delta South for his participation in the 2027 senatorial race.
The director-general disclosed that the group had already commenced widespread mobilisation in support of the re-election of President Tinubu, Gov. Oborevwori, Chief Ereyitomi and Mr Akuyoma.
“Diden is a grassroot administrator who understands the feelings of the people. He has done very well in all the positions he held.
“Diden cares so much for the well-being of the masses irrespective of the tribe, he is a detribalised politician”, he said.
Also, the Deputy Director-General of the group, Mr Ogie Samson said that Diden was endorsed following his robust track records.
He described the senator-hopeful as a detribalised politician, good listener and a problem solver.
“Diden has done
exceedingly well in all the offices he had held in the past. He is a unique blend of grassroot administrator, a seasoned legislator and spiritual father.
“He will represent a good voice for the people of the Delta South Senatorial District at the 11th National Assembly,” he said.
Samson said that the was also returning Chief Ereyitomi in the 2027 House of Representatives election because of his good representation at the National Assembly,” Samson said
He urged their supporters to remain steadfast and deliver their candidates in the forthcoming genera elections.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of the group’s flags to Mr Ejele and Chief Ereyitomi who was represented, confirming their official endorsement.
