Tinubu Inaugurates Lagos Projects Executed by Governor Sanwo-Olu

President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the new Open-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge Project, The Lagos State Geographical Information System and the Multi-agency complex, Alausa, now known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex in Lagos State.

The President was represented at the ceremony by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who formally inaugurated the projects on behalf of the President. Akpabio cited the demands of the president’s office for his absence. He said the president’s responsibilities make it difficult for him to attend all engagements.

In his address President Tinubu said the projects he commissioned were not just physical structures but symbols of purpose which reflected a government that understood that development must be seen, felt, and experienced by the people.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media/Communication to the President of the Senate, Anietie Ekong quoted President Tinubu as saying: “The Ojota-Okpebi Link Bridge is more than a road, it is a bridge to opportunity.

“In a city like Lagos, movement is everything. When traffic improves, productivity improves. When time is saved, businesses grow. When access is easier, lives get better. This project sends a clear message: we will not be overwhelmed by the challenges of growth, we will solve them.”

President Tinubu thanked the Lagos State Government for the honour of naming the administrative complex after him and said he accepted the honour with humility.

“But let me be clear, this achievement is about more than one man. It is about a system. It is about a public service that continues to deliver.

“The complex is an investment in efficiency, coordination, and better service delivery. It strengthens government so that government can better serve the people. The LAGIS building represents the future.”

According to President Tinubu the projects executed by the Lagos State Government aligned with the national vision of a Nigeria that is modern, digitally enabled, and economically strong. He said the standard should be replicated across the country.

President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remained committed to investing in infrastructure, strengthening governance, and expanding opportunity. He commended Governor Sanwo Olu and his team for their focus and discipline in delivering the projects.

On his part, the Governor said the road and bridge project would improve the efficiency of traffic circulation and greater productivity.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said the LAGIS building would eliminate the legacy of paper-based bottlenecks in land administration and strengthen property rights.

According to the Governor the Multi-Agency Administrative Complex named after the President would improve speed, efficiency and coordination of government services, and the comfort and wellbeing of the personnel delivering those services.

The commissioning forms part of a broader infrastructure expansion drive by the Lagos State Government, which has delivered several landmark projects in recent years.
