LAGOS — After three and a half decades of distinguished and meritorious service to the Nigerian nation, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Daramola L. Kazeem, ANIPR, MIPRA, has formally retired from the Nigeria Police Force.

CSP Daramola, a member of the 1991 intake of the Police College, Ikeja, bowed out of active service on April 1, 2026, bringing to a close a remarkable career marked by professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.

Over the course of his 35-year career, he served in several key commands and specialized formations within the Force. His postings included assignments in Lagos State and Niger State Commands, as well as service at the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) in Abuja.

His operational experience also extended to specialized units of the Force, including the Nigeria Police Railway Command, the Police Airwing, and the Airport Police Command, where he handled various operational and administrative responsibilities.

Beyond national assignments, CSP Daramola also served the country on the international stage through peacekeeping missions. He participated in international assignments in Timor-Leste and in Darfur, Sudan, contributing to global peace support operations and representing Nigeria in multinational security engagements.

During his career, he held several strategic appointments within the Force. Between 1999 and 2001, he served as the Deputy Editor of the Police Magazine, where he contributed to professional communication and institutional documentation within the Nigeria Police Force.

He later served as the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Niger State Command and also at the Airport Police Command, where he played a key role in strengthening communication between the police and the public.

CSP Daramola also served as Commander of the Commissioner of Police X-Squad in Rivers State, a unit responsible for internal monitoring, discipline, and oversight within the Force.

Until his retirement, he was the Officer-in-Charge of the Protocol Unit at the Airport Police Command, where he coordinated official engagements, protocol services, and high-level interactions involving the command and stakeholders within the aviation sector.

A committed professional, CSP Daramola is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (ANIPR) and a member of the International Public Relations Association (MIPRA). He is also affiliated with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), reflecting his commitment to global professional standards in policing and public communication.

Throughout his years of service, CSP Daramola received several commendations and awards from both within and outside the Nigeria Police Force in recognition of his dedication, leadership, and contributions to policing.

Colleagues and associates have described him as a disciplined, dependable, and highly professional officer whose service record reflects loyalty to the Force and commitment to national security.

As he steps into retirement, tributes continue to pour in from colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who have commended his long years of service and wished him a fulfilling and peaceful life after active duty.

His retirement marks the end of a notable chapter in the Nigeria Police Force and the beginning of a new phase of life after 35 years of unwavering service to the nation.
