Nigeria Will Never Surrender – Tinubu Vows To Defeat Terrorists

    Published on

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country will not allow those seeking to cause instability to destroy its peace, unity, and independence.

The President gave the assurance on Monday while hosting religious and traditional leaders for an interfaith breaking of the fast at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting brought together leaders from different faiths and traditional institutions across the country as part of efforts to promote unity and cooperation.

During the gathering, Tinubu spoke about the security challenges facing the country, particularly the activities of terrorists.

He said the attackers are becoming more desperate as security forces continue operations against them.

According to him, despite the violence they leave behind, Nigeria will not give up the fight against them.

The President said the country remains determined to defeat those behind the attacks and restore peace.

He added that the government will not be discouraged by the actions of violent groups and will continue working until the country becomes safer.

Tinubu also spoke about the state of the economy, stressing that the situation has started improving since his administration took over.

He said the government inherited serious economic difficulties but has managed to stabilise the situation.

According to the President, efforts taken by his administration have helped prevent the country from falling into financial crisis.

He explained that the government is working to ensure that pensioners receive their payments and relief gradually.

Tinubu added that the economic situation has improved to the point where state governors are no longer struggling to borrow money from banks just to pay workers’ salaries.

He said the government will continue working to strengthen the economy and improve the living conditions of Nigerians.

The President also restated his commitment to investing in important sectors such as agriculture and education. He said these areas are necessary for national development and will help build a better future for the next generation.

Tinubu urged Nigerians not to lose hope, assuring them that his administration remains focused on building a safer and more prosperous country.

Speaking at the event, the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, thanked the President for bringing together leaders of the two major religions for the breaking of the fast.

He said the gathering reflects unity among Nigerians despite religious differences.

The traditional ruler also prayed for peace in the country and asked for divine guidance and protection for the nation and its leadership.

The Etsu Nupe attended the event on behalf of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.

Also speaking, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, said the Christian community would continue to support efforts aimed at improving the country’s economy and strengthening security.

Okoh was represented Dr Stephen Baba-Panya, President of the Evangelical Church Winning All.

The event was attended by religious leaders and traditional rulers drawn from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

The gathering formed part of activities during the Ramadan period aimed at promoting peace, unity, and cooperation among Nigerians.
