Daniel Bwala: ‘Mehdi Hasan didn’t do his job well, there were so much’ – Rufai Oseni

    Published on

Arise Television’s Morning Show host, Rufai Oseni, on Monday lashed out at Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, over his recent interview on Head to Head anchored by Mehdi Hasan.

Oseni, speaking on Monday during the programme, warned that individuals playing opposition roles should rely on verifiable facts.

According to him, there were many past statements by Bwala that could have been raised during his interview by Hasan.

Accusing Bwala of selectively presenting facts, Oseni said he was not surprised by Bwala’s position, recalling a previous appearance by the presidential aide on a programme with Arise Television.

The remark comes after Bwala came under heavy criticism last week following his recent interview on Al Jazeera’s Head to Head programme anchored by Hasan.

In the interview sighted, Bwala, repeatedly denied critical comments he made against President Bola Tinubu prior to his appointment.

Oseni said: “Bwala came back to fact-check him (Mehdi) and said he was wrong. Like I said, maybe Mehdi didn’t do his job well because there were so much. How will he (Bwala) explain ‘Even if you give Tinubu 30 years, nothing will work’. Then it goes on like that. And that’s why I say people doing opposition should stick to the facts, empirical facts.

“I’m not surprised. When he (Bwala) came here that day, this was the same question we post at him that some of his supporters were deceiving him and saying ‘yes, he answered it. He fired back,’ because we said he has no integrity. These were the things you said, and now you are saying it’s opposition.

“The last point I want to make based on all his fact check. He is just cherry picking, and the cherry picking are never based on empirical.”
