    Bayelsa cult clash: Rival group beheads 30 year old in Yenagoa

    Rivalry between two cult groups has led to the death of a 30-year-old beheaded at Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

    The deceased, identified as Ebi but popularly known as Npotor hailsAmassoma community in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State.

    He is alleged to be a member of one of the two rival cult groups known as Greenlanders.

    Community sources said that the two rival cult groups, the Bobos and Greenlanders, were engaged in supremacy battle for control in the area.

    “The boy was said to have gone to Yenegue, an area controlled by the Bobos. He was taken and tied up and abandoned at a roadside after being beheaded.”, a community source said.

    It was learnt that the corpse of the deceased was found naked, hands tied and the head missing.

    The Igbogene Divisional Police Officer has been deployed to the area to evacuate the corpse.

    Spokesman of the Police Command in Bayelsa, Musa Mohammed who confirmed the development on Monday, said a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
