Some 100 veteran journalists have been listed for laurels in appreciation for the contributions to the development of Bayelsa and the nation at large.

A statement by Mr Ovieteme George says the programme aims to appreciate the enormous contributions of veteran journalists who toiled for the good of the society.

It says many journalists who help build politicians and society have left the stage unsung and the event is intended to appreciate their roles and a platform for bonding and camaraderie amongst generations of pen pushers.

The ceremony slated for February 14, will be preceded by a novelty football match at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa with about a hundred award recipients expected to attend.

It urges all practicing journalists and friends of the media to attend and support the veterans.
