Rivers SSG Benibo Anabraba resigns from PDP

    Published on

The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has officially withdrawn his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Anabraba conveyed his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, which he addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In the correspondence, he stated that his resignation was based on personal considerations, while appreciating the platform, support and political opportunities the party afforded him throughout his time as a member.

He did not disclose his next political move in the letter.

However, reliable sources suggest that the former PDP chieftain may soon align with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
