The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday designated six out of 11 Local Government Areas in Gombe State for its mock accreditation.

The six LGAs with the districts include; Nafada, Gombe (Gombe North), Akko, Yalmatu Deba (Gombe Central) and Balanga, Kaltungo (Gombe South).

According to a press statement issued by Mohorret Bigun, Public Affairs Officer INEC Gombe, the accreditation exercise would take place across the three senatorial districts.

He said that this is part of effort by the Commission to test run the process which would be largely hinged on Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS), in about 20 polling units, out of the statewide 2,988.

Bigun, while disclosing that the exercise would commence from 9am – 2pm, urged residents to come out to participate across the selected polling units.

“This is to inform the general public that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Gombe State will be conducting mock accreditation using Bimodal Voter Accreditation System in some selected polling units across the three senatorial districts in the state on Saturday 4th February, 2023,” the statement partly read.
