    FG predicts heavy rainfall, flooding in seven states

    The Federal Government has warned of heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding in seven states of Nigeria.

    The warning was issued through the National Flood Early Warning Centre, a department under the Federal Ministry of Environment, in Abuja on Wednesday.

    In the Centre’s flood prediction issued to newsmen, it stated:

    “In addition to the Flood Prediction of the 29th September 2025, the following locations and their environs are likely to witness heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding within the period of prediction: 1st to 3rd October 2025.”

    The Centre listed the states to include: Adamawa State: Abba-Kumbo, Mubi; Kebbi State: Argungu, Bagudo, Gauri-Banza, Gwandu, Jega, Kalgo, Kamba, Kangiwa, Birnin-Kebbi; Bauchi State: Azare, Misau, Itas, Jama’are, Kari; Zamfara State: Bukkuyum, Bungudu, Gummi, Gusau, Kaura-Namoda, Maradun, Shinkafi; Sokoto State: Isa, Makira, Shagari, Silame, Sokoto, Wamakko; Kaduna State: Jaji, Zaria and Niger State: Magama, Sakin-Pawa

    The Ministry of Environment, therefore, tasked the relevant stakeholders with quick action and feedback.
