    Published on

The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mary Alile, has officially launched an advocacy team aimed at galvanising and raising awareness for reserved seats for women in both elective and appointive positions.

The event took place at the APC Headquarters in Abuja.

Members of the team include: Hon. Halima Hayatu from Adamawa, Queen Aisha Yerima Dairu from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Mrs Hajara from Ogun state, Nafisat Abbas from Bauchi state, and Bilikisu Abdullahi from Kano State.

Alile emphasised the importance of women’s representation in governance, stating that ensuring reserved seats for women is crucial for achieving gender parity in Nigerian politics.

She called upon party members and stakeholders to support this initiative, highlighting the positive impact that increased female participation can have on policy-making and community development.

The advocacy team aims to mobilise support from various sectors, encouraging women to actively participate in politics and governance.

Alile’s leadership and commitment to this cause have been met with enthusiasm from attendees, who expressed their readiness to collaborate in promoting women’s rights and representation.

As the APC continues to strengthen its commitment to gender equality, the launch of this advocacy team marks a significant step towards empowering women in Nigeria’s political landscape.
