Operatives of the Taraba State Police Command have intercepted a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle, and apprehended two suspects linked to the theft.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP James Lashen Saminu.

According to the statement, the incident followed intelligence received on August 28, 2025, from the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano State. The report indicated that a white Toyota Hilux, stolen from one Mr. Murtala Musa of No. 6 Dutse Road, Kano, and without a plate number, was believed to be headed toward Jalingo.

Acting on the intelligence, operatives of the Taraba State Anti-Kidnapping Squad mounted surveillance and successfully intercepted the vehicle in the Di-Nyavoh area of Jalingo. Two suspects, identified as Yallah Kadara of Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello, were found in possession of the vehicle, and subsequently arrested.

The police confirmed that the case is under investigation.

Commending the operatives for their swift action, the Commissioner of Police, Betty Enkpen Isokpan Otimenyin, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state. She further urged residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in combating crime.
