Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice, has seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from dancehall star Shatta Wale.

According to EOCO’s Acting Director Raymond Archer, the operation followed a 2023 request from U.S. authorities and was executed at the singer’s Trassaco Valley residence in Accra.

The vehicle is allegedly linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian man serving an 86-month prison sentence in the U.S. for financial crimes and ordered to pay $4.74 million in restitution.

Shatta Wale was allowed to voluntarily surrender the luxury car to avoid a public confrontation. Both he and a former senior officer of Ghana’s National Signal Bureau are now persons of interest and are expected to be questioned.

EOCO said a Mutual Legal Assistance request is being prepared to repatriate the car to the U.S. as part of ongoing asset recovery efforts.
