‎Baba-Ahmed died on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the age of 70.

    ‎

‎In a condolence statement on Thursday, MURIC Founder and Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, described him as a famous, influential and highly respected Islamic scholar.

    ‎

‎He said the late SCSN scribe was a detribalised Nigerian who maintained friendships across the country.

    ‎

‎”He was frank, fearless and deeply committed to justice and fairness,” Akintola said.

    ‎

‎According to MURIC, Baba-Ahmed devoted his life to the service of Islam and humanity and was known for generosity, piety and willingness to assist others even at personal inconvenience.

    ‎

‎”MURIC commiserates with the leadership of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria as well as the entire Muslim Ummah. He will be missed by all,” he said.

    ‎

‎The group prayed Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and give his family fortitude to bear the loss.
